About: very fine and delicate but intense and exciting expression of indigenous grapes from Galicia from one of the hardest and smartest working producers in Galicia. Lado is high acid, Treixadura low acid.

Vines

Location: from many terraced plots in two valleys in Arnoia, near Ribadavia.
Size ha: 1.
Age: vines planted between 1940 and 2010.
Soils: granite and schist.
Exposition: various, mostly south-west and south-east.
Altitude: 185 to 250m.
Training: some on wire, some in vaso (gobelet).
Farming: organic and biodynamic.
Average yield hl/ha: 30-40.
Climate: Atlantic, cold in winter, hot in summer, humid, cool, fresh nights.

Winemaking

Directly pressed in a vertical press to stainless steel tank to ferment naturally then moved after 5 days to old 225L and 500L barrels to finish and age for 9 months. Very lightly sulfited and filtered to bottle to avoid cloudiness (of appearance and flavour).

Difficult year due to heat and humidity and one week of rain starting on 15 September as the harvest started so that they had to wait two weeks.

Tasting: vegetal and mineral aromas with hints of bacon and spice. Palate is creamy, rounded, very fine, not fruity, more mineral, spicy, clear, clean with gentle acidity. Very classy and pure.
