Vintage Notes 2021
Bacchus 25% and Riesling 60% bought fruit from PIRI in the Nahe; Muller 25% from a neighbour in Kröv
The weather: cool and rainy season, lots of problems with downy mildew and black rot, Jan had to buy quite a lot of fruit from other organic producers that were less affected.
Harvested: mid to late September
Bottles produced: 3500
Date bottled: 17th November 2021
Alcohol %: 10

Tasting: a baker’s shop on the nose, dough, tarte tatin, baked apple, lemon honey cake, on the palate, bright and zesty and fine fizz with plenty to chew on, simple, clean, very fresh, lovely quince, lemon, apple fruit, great fun. Not disgorged so there’s a finer fizz and baker’s yeast character and it’s generally more interesting; Jan checks that it’s fit for shipping un-disgorged.
