Cuvée: Naturi G.
About: formerly part of Diabolesa, now Raul and Laura are making a Cuvée for each grape. So this is G after Garnacha but still from Tieta Valley.
Location: Tietar Valley (Ávila).
Size: 1,5 hectare (differents small vines).
Age: planted around 1950.
Soils: granite sands and granite mother rock a few centimetres from the surface.
Exposition: hillside with south-east orientation.
Average yield hl/ha: 10.
Climate: continental, hot summers, dry.
Hand harvested. 50% whole bunches and 50% destemmed with its own indigenous yeasts in mix of plastic tank and open barrel. Weekly punching down. After 17 days, pressed with a manual press, racked to old barrels to age 6 months. No correction or adding was done. One last racking is carried out to remove impurities and solid residues by decantation. Bottled without filtering or stabilization, it there will be some deposits in bottle.
